At Las Bambas, we're committed to improving the well-being of our host communities by collectively promoting and performing different activities.
MMG acknowledges that the concept of human rights holds a wide range of interrelated issues where an integrated approach involving all business functions is required. Therefore, our Human Resources, Supply Management, Community Relations, Stakeholder Relations, Safety, Explorations and Project Development departments have specific responsibilities to uphold our commitment to human rights.
Our approach to managing human rights risks is aligned to our Risk Management Framework. Human rights principles have already been incorporated into our Code of Conduct, employment process, risk analysis and grievance mechanism. MMG wants to ensure that stakeholders can instantly report unacceptable behaviours without fear of intimidation or retaliation.
We are committed to respecting the human rights of the communities in where we live and operate, providing effective solutions to impacts caused. MMG operates under the United Nations Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights and the United Nations Global Compact Principles. MMG is also a signatory institution to the UN Global Compact under the advocacy of its major shareholder, China Minmetals Corporation.
