Digital Transformation is the framework that companies are applying to address the challenges and opportunities of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, which was denominated as "The Greatest Act in the History of Humanity" during the 2016 World Economic Forum.
In response to this new and challenging global outlook driven by rapid advances in science, technology and human activity, Las Bambas initiated its most ambitious project called Digital Mining Transformation Program (DMX). This Program aims at enhancing our organisation’s competitiveness and people-focused approach through an accelerated application of new technologies and process optimisation.
At Las Bambas, our senior management has set the target of transforming Las Bambas into a "Smart Mine" by 2030. Since 2019, the company decided to go through a comprehensive Digital Transformation process to achieve this goal, obtaining advantageous results.
One of the main drivers of our business strategy is the Digital Mining Transformation Program (DMX). The purpose of this Program is to develop and implement the transformation roadmap for the next four years by capturing initiatives, analysing feasibility and creating business cases.
Digital Transformation at Las Bambas means "the transformation of people, processes and corporate culture through digitalisation".
Our Digital Transformation is based on 12 pillars and is now being implemented throughout the organisation.
Change Agents of Digital Transformation and Innovation (DMX & I) at Las Bambas play a strategic role in leveraging a Digital Culture across business functions, improving communication with the Information Technology department, promoting innovation and contributing to process optimisation, cost reduction and higher productivity.
They are the key to identify innovation-related opportunities and implement solutions.
