Las Bambas is one of the largest copper mines in Peru.
It is located in the Challhuahuacho, Tambobamba and Coyllurqui districts
(Cotabambas Province), and the Progreso district
(Grau Province), in the Apurimac region.
With headquarters in Melbourne, Australia, MMG is a mid-tier, global producer of base metals, of copper and zinc. It is listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange (HKEx:1208) and has a secondary listing on the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX:MMG).
At MMG, we mine to create wealth for our people, host communities and stakeholders by establishing partnerships that can drive economic growth and capacity building.
By working together with our major shareholder, China Minmetals Corporation (CMC), our vision and goal is to become one of the most important mid-tier mining companies and one of the most important worldwide.
We operate copper, zinc and other base metal mines across Australia, the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Laos and Peru. We also have exploration projects and partnerships in various locations in Australia, Africa and the Americas.
Although Las Bambas is operated by MMG, and its standards, strategies and processes are well aligned, they are locally applied and adapted to the current Peruvian legislation. These are priority factors for our decision making and business performance.
