An important chain of tourist restaurants in the city of Cusco, has become a new customer for potato producers from the community of Yuricancha. This important achievement was thanks to the support of the Superintendency of Development of Local Entrepreneurs of Las Bambas.
On Tuesday 14th June, farmers from the Association of Native Potato Producers Qqachun Huaqqachi from Yuricancha, made the first delivery of potatoes to the Restaurant chain in Cusco, consortium of tourist restaurants such as: Inka Grill, Limo, Incanto, Greens Organic , Map Café, Pachapapa, El Parador de Moray and Chifa Kion.
Cusco Restaurant Logistic's manager, Fernando Ferrer highlighted the entrepreneurship of the Cotabambas farmers whom are expanding their market in order to generate income for their community. "The tourist restaurants of Cusco are willing to buy the production of Yuricancha" he stated.
"We are reaching a dream of the community because we are entering the tourism market of Cusco. As potato farmers from Yuricancha we will make an effort to ensure that our products arrive on time and maintain a good quality to satisfy our customers, "said Walter Huillca, yuricanchino producer.
