Huancuire, Cconccacca, Pamputa, Fuerabamba, Minascucho, Ccasa, Tambulla, Patario, Huancuire, Choccoyo and Cuchuhuacho communities.
Provide fresh vegetables to those communities for a well-balanced diet for vulnerable families, pregnant and breastfeeding women, schoolchildren and the elderly living in high Andean communities at more than 3,800 metres above sea level, who have limited possibilities to produce vegetables in open fields.
We implemented a 200 m2 greenhouse with a 160 m2 polyethylene cover, seed beds and an area to process biol. The greenhouse has a drip irrigation system for production plots. The directors of the community mothers’ club and other institutions, parents’ association and similar bodies, administer the production plots. They have received training from a specialist in production, harvest and trading of vegetables and preparation of balanced meals.
Ten women’s organisations produce fresh and healthy vegetables for a well-balanced and nutritious diet and sell surplus vegetables in communities and local markets, and have a learning area for students from the community school.
