Thanks to the consensus reached by Fuerabamba residents and the support of Xstrata Copper, THE FOUNDATION STONE OF NUEVA FUERABAMBA WAS LAID 20/08/2010 Nueva Fuerabamba is born. With the presence of Energy and Mines Minister Pedro Sánchez; Executive Director of ProInversión Jorge León; President of the Apurímac region David Salazar; leadership of Xstrata Copper – Southern Peru division; national, regional and local authorities; and the active participation of the population, the foundation stone of what will become the Nueva Fuerabamba town was laid.
